| I've recently been getting into tea leaf reading, which can be difficult for someone who hates tea. I've got this thing called 'The Cup of Destiny' (cheers for that Logmadr) which has symbols on the rim which you read as well as interpreting images in the main bottom section. I took it with me when I visited my brother and did some reading of him and his friends with the cup as well as tarot. I enjoyed the tarot reading and it was interesting how it wound in with the tea leaves. However, I just felt a much stronger connection when doing the tea leaf readings. I was just wondering if anyone else had any thought or experiences in this area or any helpful hints for a newbie? | |

| I too have a Cup of Destiny and I love tea ... however, I am afraid that I lack the imagination to see images in the tealeaves - all I could see were clumps of sticky, brown bits!!!!!!!!! I then decided that this definitely was not for me (at least at that time). | |

| I had a book with graphocal representations of tea leaf readings when I was a teenager - I imagine this is the sort of thing that would help you most. UNfortunately the book 'disappeared' a very long time ago. I just had a quick search on the internet and found these: - Click here for a brief list of Tea Leaf reading meanings Click here for a very detailed free online resource I hope this helps to start with. | |

Very interesting that you like tea leave reading. May be that there is some gypsy in your heritage? I had one done a year ago, all the past and present he came up with was very spot on, hmmmm the future stuff not so much. *Shrugs* Amazing how much time he spent focusing and gazing into the tea cup, chatting and saying things off the top of his head as they came to him. Overall it was very impressive. We had a little chat about what he does.
The focusing and gazing bit is, I think = to the mind being in a meditative state, using our intuition and tapping into our subconscious mind. INTUITION plays a huge part.... and because you clearly resonate with the tea cup readings this is going to your best ally. I think reading anything, goes beyond memorizing a list of symbols. Learning what Tarot cards represent is a starting place to make a subconscious connection with the symbols represented in the drawings on the cards. This connection is going to be different for everybody, because we bring our own experiences and associations with us when we are learning and when we are reading for others as well.
Every time one does a practise reading the booklet is needed less and less, because the info has absorbed and is there, instantly, the second the symbol presents itself. I suspect in no time at all (when you are relaxed and self confident) you will also get psychic impressions as well. and you will surprise even yourself .... what comes out of your mouth. Saying it... as you get it... without trying to decipher whether it is valid for the reader, or not ((LOL)) I think is a rule.
OOK ... those sites were brilliant. I had a glance at them myself, however I am in the same boat as Sarah. All I see is soggy herbs too. The ASSOCIATIONS they make in regards to the symbols seen while tea leaf gazing are very well done. They ...simply... make sense, especially the animal ones.
Have fun... and great success LOL you don't like tea... |
