| The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... Do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise? From: Herald Sun 2007 If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. The article says that Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it. LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS..................... RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses logic ....................................... uses feeling detail oriented ..................................."big picture" oriented facts rule ......................................... imagination rules words and language ............................symbols and images present and past.................................present and future math and science.................................philosophy & religion can comprehend..................................can "get it" (i.e. meaning) knowing........................................... believes acknowledges.................................... appreciates order/pattern perception........................spatial perception knows object name...............................knows object function reality based......................................fantasy based forms strategies.................................. presents possibilities practical............................................ impetuous safe................................................. risk taking I have no idea how this works. I can see where she changes direction, at her waist... however I haven't figured out the timing of this. She is set to make a switch, of this I am sure. I wanna think this is a clever illusion or trick of some kind.... HOWEVER... My sister is standing directly behind me, and while I see her spinning clockwise sis is seeing her ... anti-clockwise. PLUS + when she switched direction ... on me... Sis saw that change as well. Once again we were seeing it oppositely. Not so freaky as totally odd ... About Changing her direction, by will .... ??? I dunno yet. I did try to spin her in the other direction... focusing on her arms.... ... her direction changed.... timing? How do they do that? How did I do that? Interesting illusion. Mostly she moves clockwise.... How do you see her? Illusion/trick of the mind ... or what? This came to me via E-mail... I haven't found anymore information or who it is that created this.... scientist, psychologist or illusionist? |

| This is getting more and more freaky - Annie and I are both watching the dancer and when I see her going counter-clockwise, Annie sees her going clockwise and vice versa!!!
I think this is absolutely fascinating - thank you, Evie, for sharing this with us.

| It's more likely to mean your computer hasn't got a brain. Or the necessary RAM, one of the two.
I see it going clockwise, but it's fairly easy to change. Which is odd because if you'd showed me the left/right sided brain traits first, I would have thought I'd be the other one. All mathsy and that.

| yeah im clockwise too, but i cant seem to get her to change direction at all. In fact i can't see how anyone could think she was moving anti-clockwise.
oh well, nice post though if you do find anything else out about it please let us know.

| OK, that's wierd. Now it was clockwise, anticlockwise then clockwise. Hmmm.I wonder where I put that gif animation package. It may be how the gif is designed and timed. | |

| We've sussed it out! It's the pause in the animation. It can help you mentally reset the optical illussion so I don't think it's a trick at all, just a clever use of an image with a well timed pause (albeit a very brief one). Amazing how someone could come up with something like this. | |

| I can see it clockwise, and I do not see how anyone could think it was counter-clockwise...anyone who sees it counter-clockwise is obviously uncool...
I can't make it change direction at all...
