| I just found this poem on my myspace blog thingamebob... Hope you like it... The Curse of the Vampire
The curse of the vampire Is eternal loneliness, To be forgotten, To be left out. Forever unknown to the real world Forever unknown to those who love. I am one such, A cursed one. I shall never be freed, I shall never be released.

They are? Well what ever floats your boat I suppose, but the vampires of folklore are nothing like the Holywood kind, instead they are described as ugly, inhuman creatures like Nosferatu in the 1922 film.

| What a fantastic piece of information, you may like a comic strip by Jhonnen vasquez in a little offshoot from his Squee series that is a bout a spotty teenage boy dreaming to be a beautiful vampire however he gets turned into a vampire and he is absolutely grotesque!!! However Im sure she wasnt referring to the 'folklore' kind or the ones in real terms i.e. the psycho cannibals out there. I'm sure she was merely refering to the idea of a dark beautiful person that sweeps in a completely dominates, that yes are most commonly depicted in movies, the 'folklore' need not be summoned into every topic Amberlady. x | |

Is this a Pagan / Estoric forum or a Teen site? Because like it or not you cannot possibly understand the Estoric or supernatural without also understanding folklore and legend

| Its both. Really??? I think you are very wrong. If folklore and legend are what you most probably beleive. Made up stories. Then how do they affect your beleifs. All she wanted to say was that the idea of vampires got her fiesty in her pants, she wasnt looking for a massive debate on the topic of vampires and whether they exist and if they do, whether she'd want to shag em or she thinks their as minging as that guy at the KFC counter. Start a topic on it it might be interesting, however this topic was a show of her poetry so people could give feedback and support. I think your taking things a bit far in your pedantic comments about everything everyone says. x | |

| Amberlady, I feel that this is not the thread in which to get into this debate. It was started to share a poem with other users, a poem which is fantasy and fiction - NOT folklaw. Please start another thread elsewhere should you want this debate to continue further.
In answer to your question ... this IS a Pagan/Esoteric forum - but I would like to point out that we do have a number of teenage members. The intention is for this forum to be SAFE for everyone to share and explore their interests and views ... NOT to be vilified for them. After all, we have all had to start somewhere - however young or old.

| It's not a fluffy site, but it's not an anti-fluffy site either. Start an anti-fluffy thread if you ant to share your views on this. | |

| I think the folklore is the most interesting bit. That's a reason why we're lucky to live in the UK. The folklore is so rich. | |

| Amberlady I posted this peom because at one point in my life I felt like this. I used the idea of a vampire not because they can be pictured as sexy but because I thought that they, however good or bad looking they may or may not be, would be excluded. It is true that many folklore say that Vampires are twisted ugly "creatures" but the same was said for witches and... well... we have proved that wrong. so to quote a weird random song: "Don't worry be happy " BB | |
