| This is just my little rant about the clocks changing for daylight savings! Why on Earth do they have to change? I was perfectly happy with them before they have to change, now I will have to spend ages getting used to the fact that it has changed and then when I do get used to it, it is time to turn them back again! Also, I don't think that the person who suggested this stupid idea had any clocks in their house. Do they not realise how hard it is to remember where they all are? (admittedly, I live in a house with a few more clocks than most!!) And you always seem to break something when you try to get the clock off the wall to change it. Then, in a couple of months time, you will find that lone clock that you missed when changing them, live by it, then turn up late to something very, very important. And, because they are going forwards, it means that I get to spend one hour less in bed and that means that I will be (even more) grumpy in the morning and not very good company (admittedly, the clocks changing can be an advantage in the winter, with a chance to spend MORE time in bed. In fact, why don't we put the clocks back five hours, maybe even ten in the winter?! lol) Not that I am bitter or anything, I just think that it is a stupid, foolish idea! By the way, don't forget to change your clocks! | |

| Darn! If I'd remembered that the car had a clock, I would have changed it when I went to the shop. I know I got up earlier than normal That means that I got to spend even less time in my comfortable, nice, squishy, warm, cosy, snuggly bed Oh well, I am still protesting for the clocks to go back 5 hours in the winter!! lol | |

| Well, maybe you should come live in South Africa, we don't change our clocks (no daylight saving). Lots of sun in the summer and no snow in the winter | |

| Daylight saving time (DST; also summer time in British English—see Terminology) is the convention of advancing clocks so that afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less.
(According to Wikipedia)
Soo.. its basically so that later in the day is still brighter..? Meaning.. you can stay out later without fear of the dark.. and they get to hold off on putting on the lights.. and a few other nice things which people don't factor in due to the desire to just sleeeeepp..
Admitedly I do want to just sleep.. but that's generally only in the morning when I wake up..

| Great to see you back on the Moot, Dorian - how's things for you?
Very good response, by the way - excellent explanation ... another reason for changing the clocks is historical - to give the farmers more workable time in the fields, particularly useful at harvest time.
