Aside from the fgact i dont get the point A......

The satanic bible is highly intriguing, although i little bit reductionist in my view...i have a friend that claims to be Satanist.....=S highly strange religion.

Though dark magick....there is no such thing in my view. It is the intent [though that can still be debatable] that is the key factor.

I don't really think there is a definition for 'dark magick'. It is all ones own opinion.

Nicely put Sabouki! I completely agree that it is of course all a matter of opinion- as is any idea of good and bad, right and wrong. We all have the responsibility to make up our own minds on what is right as there never have been, and never will be (should be) a set of predefined rules on what good and evil are. They are consepts created by the humans and therefore fallible and subject to change as cultures change and grow.

I suppose philosophical could be a word for that! Personally I'd call it insanity but hey, it's all about perspective right?! Laughing Razz

VERY late joiner here! I do have a definite oppinion though! *rolls eyes....if you don't want an opinion, do not ask for mine because I ALWAYS HAVE ONE!*
Dark Magik vs Light Magik......a very fine line. If you can perform one, you can perform the other. It is your choice as to what your going to practice. Preferable Light! My theory is, Do as ye will, but harm none. That does not mean roll over and play dead if you are attacked magically. I firmly belive in being pro-active in protecting yourself, your interests and your "family". While I am a healer, I also have performed a few spells when I've felt attacked magically. I was very specific when it came time to chant my spells as far as keeping what I was saying very controlled and not leaving my wording open ended. *we all know the Gods and Goddesses have a sense of humor about twisting our words if we are not specific!*
I always wish well and never wish ill even when I'm angry. I ask that no harm comes ALWAYS. I'm very good about using that Karma thing! What goes around comes around! I want to be on the receiving end of that 10 fold good.....I have enough 10 fold bad!!!!!
Hope this isn't scattered thoughts across the page!
Bright Blessings
Storm

Very interesting post, Storm, you're showing your personality so quickly, I love it!! I really think that is quite a good way to believe, when it comes to magic....It makes sense and shows that no matter how pissed you are, you're still controlled....I wish I was!! lol

Interesting indeed! I have to say I respect your outlook- 'never wish ill even when I'm angry' but I can't say I follow the same. I do wish harm on some people but only to those I feel deserve it (those who hurt the ones I love or mankind on a large scale). This different outlook is probably largely due to the fact that I do not believe in karma, if I did I would think these people would recieve the harm they put out on the world and I wouldn't have to do it myself. As it stands I think that some people put hurt into the world and may receive nothing back unless we do something about it ourselves.
By the way storm, you say you've performed spells when attacked magically. With your view of never wishing ill, were these then simply protective spells?

Note: I apolosise if any of the above sounds like an attack as that is in no way my intension (always the problem with computers- you can't hear tone or see facial expressions so this are often misunderstood). I simply love hearing things from another point of view and trying to portray my own. Discussions of this sort, I believe, are one of the best ways to progress our own views- as long as people remain open-minded and emotions are kept in check. Anyways, I'm ranting again but i hope i was clear... scratch Smile

PostSubject: Re: Darkness & Magick   Darkness & Magick - Page 4 Icon_minitimeMon Apr 07, 2008 5:43 pm

You were very clear in your thoughts! I NEVER try to take things out of context. I am rarely offended! When I did the spells, they were meant to make that person leave me any mine alone. I did it very specifically with my wording. GO AWAY! *grins* I just made sure "They" *Gods & Goddesses* knew I didn't mean from the planet. I have also done power binding spells when people get out of hand with ill intent and just plain nastiness. I'm NOT afraid to protect myself and what I call MINE as far as friends and family. I just don't want to harm someone that doesn't deserve it fully. I also am a bit intimidated of my own anger and really don't want to tap into that particular well.
Sort of difficult to explain outside of my own head!!! I don't think that karma will come bite me in the ass if it's intended correctly. Does that make ANY sense? Sort of like looking through the bottom of a coke bottle in my world! It's distorted, but makes sense to me!

Indeed, sense was made! I'm glad that you are not one of those easily offended- it is usually those most insecure in their own opinion that react so defensively if it is questioned. Also as I said, with the lack of facial expressions and tone I often fear that my intentions are misinterpreted (especially difficult for someone who relies so much on sarcasm! Smile)

OMG Solvo! I rely heavily on sarcasm! *laughs* I have a very dry sense of what is funny and laugh loudest at myself. That who facial thing hits soooo close to home! You are correct there. That would be why I add my little thought bubbles ****!
So if I'm going to be sarcastic, I will add something like *rolling eyes putting finger gun to my head* or something to the effect! If I'm thinking or doing it, I'm typing it. OK OK OK FOR ALL YA"LL WHO HAVE NASTY LITTLE MINDS>>>>>>>>>NO NOT LIKE THAT!!!
Love yall!

To me, dark magic or black magic would be the typical veiws - voodoo, curses, necromancy and anything to rally destruction and greed.
however i beleive it is a necessary part of magic for no good can come without evil.
As to whether i am an ally or one to stand against dark magic, i'm afraid i am not one that would stand in its way.
I dabble in it for pure curiosity, and do not beleive wholly in the three fold law.
every time i have done wrong or had a downside of some sort, it never lasts long, and never stays with me.
it is annoying during the time (i think) but that never leaves me in a pitiful state. i use what i know to happen in a situation from before, and apply , thinking around every path that can come arund in the new situation.
i dont think i have ever tried whole heartedly pushing dark magic on anyone, i have never really needed to, as i know that no-one and nothing will put me down.
to me, hate is one thing, but to do somthing is the magic itself.

um.... i dont remember what i am on about... keheh!

Jaska, this is not a sarcastic comment from me (for once) but that is a very wise post, very interesting to read....you really are a gothic optimist in my eyes, and I think that post really helps members to realise just how beyond your years you are...

LiberNull on Black magic and white magic...
White magic leans more towards the aquisition of wisdom and a general feeling of faith in the universe. The black form is concerned more with the acquisition of power and is reflective of a basic faith in oneself.

I guess in that sense, i lean more toward the black form with the idea of power and faith in myself... and search for wisdom in the white side as well...
Along with the original ideas i had of black magic being destruction and greed, to me that would be a part of the search for power...
just a few thoughts for myself... figured it would be relavent... looking back on ideas etc...

Personaly I don't see there being any 'line in the sand' as far as black and white goes. There are an awfull lot of shades of grey here. There are few things that can be clasified as only useable for good, or the other way round.

I mean that, even a love spell can, if applied with bad intent, cause just as much harm, if not more, than things that are called black magic.

To me its more to do with being carefull not to cause harm, than saying a particular thing is black, or white.

It's the same thing I agree. Also what I beleive Smile

I also think that experimentation is a valid reason for trying things out. Because the only way we truly learn is by doing things ourseves, and making our own mistakes. The real problems are when we fail to learn by our mistakes, or worse refuse to.

Joking Stormy, good to see you posting again!!

As for Dark Magick, what can I say? In small doses, maybe negativity is a good thing (iironically), but when it leads to bad things upon yourself and others (e.g. depression, negative outlooks, etc.) it's time to stop messing around with it...

Take that shotgun out of here. You might hurt yourself Smile "imangines Farmer sort shouting 'Get Orffff My Land' in broad Somerset accent"

Well in the way that there can be no day without a night, then maybe it is a good thing. That's the whole point, when it starts to harm, only then can it be called 'dark'. There has to be balance, so there will always have to be some bad things happen to good people, and good things to bad ones. On the whole I do think that you get what you hand out in the end though.
