Where there is arrogance in Heaven,
There is humbleness in Hell.
I'll see you on the River Styx where I will bid thee farewell.
Drink up, my friends, to my final quest.
To feed the hungry belly of life's great unrest.
The boatman takes me southwards
To my retirement in the fire.
An ancient smile of pleasure cracks as I burn upon my pyre.
Drink up, my friends, for my last breath.
Held only in my lungs, to shout in the face of death.
The devil saves a seat for me
At the place beside his throne,
Where I can watch the daemon eating and getting fat alone.
Drink up, my friends, to the meeting place of fate.
My last port as admiral, as captain or mate.
I leave 'cross vast mountains of bone and ash,
Breathing the sulphur breeze.
Content because unlike life, Hell will never freeze.
Drink up, my friends, let's drink until I die.
For six more ales and pipes to smoke, and it's Hades I will lie.
(- bored at work. Decided to try a poem using that quote I made up for my signature.)
