| Do you have any thoughts, opinions, experiences or even general knowledge of Ouija boards? Do you want to share them here? I have a rather negative view (don't let this put you off!) and some very wierd experiences I'll be happy to share with you. Some of the things these 'whotsits' (my current name for an unknown entities) come up with through the board are very, very imaginative. | |

| I have a board but I've never been able to make it work. I think you need more than one person. I do think that it takes a lot of energy for any 'wotsit' to cross into this plane of existence so I don't think that they just pop in randomly. You just have to keep control of the situation

| Personallly, I don't like Ouija Boards ... especially when used by people who are not aux fait with the workings of them. Consequently, I will not stock them in the shop.
I have played around with a glass and letters when I was much (much, much, much) younger and the experience scared me ****less - particularly as it turned out that I was the channel and I didn't know how to control it ... perhaps this has coloured my view?!?!?!

| In my opinion you should leave the dead be, if they have some knowledge to impart to you them will come ontheir own, i dislike the idea of calling on someone for amusement or to answer any questions you have. If i have a question ill use tarot, a pendulum or meditation. | |

| A severe warning, Ook - I don't like them either!
I figure if you actually DO contact a dead hman person (and I'm nt sure that is even possible) the dead should be left alone. There's a divide between life and death for a purpose and a reason why we don't know much about the afterlife.
If (as I believe is infinitly more likely) you get a ULW (unidentified lying wotsit) then it's best just to...y'know...not.

| Well said, Evie - I could not agree with you, or Lizzie, more.
I do believe that Ouijas in the right hands can be a valuable tool but the users would need to have strong protection in place and know what to do if they do get an ULW

| Personaly I've had a varied experience with ouija boards, but again the majority was not good. The problem I think, is that it leaves you open to any spirit strong enough to make contact. If used correctly with the proper protections in place I think they can serve a valuable role, but too many people take it to light heartedly. I remember losing it with some people in school because they were just though it was all a game and they ended up releasing something they couldn't handle (something I had already had to bind once). I think you're completely right about how their sold Evie, and I think that's half the problem. The people selling them probably don't even believe in magick so don't give it the respect it needs. | |

| There are other forms of communication with wotsits, so why is it that Ouijas seem to attract such negativity? Wierd. Or are all forms of communication just as bad? | |

| Solvo, your story gave me goosebumps and scared me, I don't know how you dealt with it...as most of you know, frightening me with Magick, goood or bad, is not an easy thing to do, but Mel, you managed it, and I really feel for you...
As for Ouija, I've never HAD to use them...I never had a need to contact the dead before I could use Necromancy, and Solvo, although this is something I know you frown upon, it is a much safer method: If you have the mindset to project to the Necromantic Plane, you have the ability to protect yourself adaquately!

| Necromancy is the art of comunicating with the dead for divinatory purposes or to get the dead/wotsits to porform tasks the us "mortals" can't. The conjurer often stood in a circle in order to protect himself from the dead spirit/wotsits. well thats roughly what came up when I googled it | |

| You don't take crap Sarah, you're just too nice to give it back...Mel on the other hand is nasty and evil (smelling) therefore has no qualms about giving me hell!
And yes, theme music...
